The default 'Use All Battle Gears At Once' key, 'B', is merely a shortcut for clicking the battle gears with your mouse, same as the already mentioned F1-F9 keys (using individual battle gears). You can select all combat units on the screen by using the CTRL+ C combination. We're looking into reducing collisions and improving hitboxes in the game, which will make it somewhat closer to formations, but it will have to be thoroughly tested.įor now you can use the SHIFT hotkey to bypass this and stack units closer to each other. There is no concept for formation in the game as of now (since 2001), only moving groups. Imo, there should be regulated time for melee combat and set of probability for a unit can't be disengage depending on how many units are melee ganging on it, and other additional innate ability of some speacial units.Ħ. In Battle Realms, running speed are vastly varied among units and there is no solid units collision which means units can overlapping each other in midst of battle. However, I think it's part of war game mayhem. Not those left on will be off and those left off will be on, vice versa.Ĥ. All BG on and All BG off) Totally Agree on this one! I agree, toggle BG should only have 2 features: 1. for units card from left to right apart from 1,2,3. Though it's hard to tell the difference when they are all the same unit type (my suggest to devs is: they need another indicator for those like a,b,c. You could apply F1-F9 to activate units' Battle Gear of selected units group, according to order of units from left to right, which located at unit card control panel (bottom unit panel). There is more to this, like 1 depleted stamina unit make the whole group slow downģ. Vice-versa, you can also select individual unit into a group by Shift + Left clicking as well. Though you can deselecting slow unit that dragging the group speed down by holding Shift + Left clicking I don't like how units always move at the speed according the slowest unit in the group tooīut it has purpose to make selected group in formation. and there is hotkey for selecting all combat units on the screen (Ctrl+C but I change it to Space Bar) You could assign units into grouping by CTRL+1,2,3. I agree, in order to clump units up in tight formation or loose formation, you have to do it individually (or use the shift move exploit for stacked units)Ģ. Tower difficult to click on when surrounded with units. While I can understand unit not being able to escape while fighting, chance of escape based on the frequency of spamming ctrl-alt-right click seems way too artificial way to limit unit ability to escape. It seems that if you spam ctrl-click the unit will make other attempts to escape. Retreating units will stop and fight back when engaged in melee. They move around while fighting and it is almost impossible to hit them with the mouse without box selecting them along with other fighting units. Very difficult to select individual fighting units. It is very difficult to adjust them unit by unit. The player will want either to turn all of the on, or to turn all of them off, not flip them (e.g. This is something that is useful in no situation. Pressing "B" in a group with in which some soldiers have battle gear toggled on and some off, will flip them. There is also no way to select multiple control groups using the the control group hotkeys. You cannot for example assign whole army to 1, melee units from the same army to 2, and the ranged units of the same units to 3. As the units match speeds when ordered together, it seems logical to command them together and when they reach the battle to command them by groups. Unit cannot be part of more than one control group. If you want to get them closer you have to either click in some magic location in the middle of the formation or select and move individual units. Which of these things are accidental and which is intended?ġ. The units in this game are hard to control because of many things.
